The Public Petitions Committee is set to summon the management of Uchumi Supermarkets Limited over the Company's continued failure to settle outstanding salary arrears, gratuity and terminal dues owed to former employees, despite the passage of several years, court interventions and commitments made under the Company's Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).

The Senate Standing Committee on Energy has intensified its oversight of Kenya’s proposed Nuclear Power Project in Siaya County after seeking detailed assurances from the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) on project safety, environmental safeguards, community participation, financing, regulatory preparedness and socio-economic benefits.

The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget has granted Migori County seven days to align its procurement compliance records with those of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

Nairobi City County has outlined the legislative, policy and operational measures it has put in place to strengthen firefighting and disaster management in its final response to the Senate Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Relations.

Responding to the Committee’s inquiry into firefighting and disaster management by devolved governments, the County outlined reforms aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness, emergency response, resilience and inter agency coordination.
