VACANT POSITION FOR THE FEMALE MEMBER OF THE PARLIAMENTARY SERVICE COMMISSION UNDER ARTICLE 127(2)(D) OF THE CONSTITUTION
LIST OF APPLICANTS AND SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES
The Parliamentary Service Commission is established under Article 127 of the Constitution to, among other things, provide services and facilities to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Parliament. Article 127(2)(d) of the Constitution provides that the Parliamentary Service Commission shall consist of, among others, one man and one woman appointed by Parliament from among persons who are experienced in public affairs, but who are not members of Parliament.
Pursuant to Article 127(2)(d) of the Constitution and the First Schedule to the Parliamentary Service Act, 2019, the Clerk of the Senate/Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission, declared a vacancy for the position of female Non-MP Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission and invited interested qualified persons to apply through an advertisement published in the Kenya Gazette, the Daily Nation and the Standard newspapers on Friday, 14th August, 2026 and on the website of Parliament.
Interested persons were required to submit their applications online, within fourteen (14) days from the date of the publication of the Advertisement and not later than Friday, 28th August, 2026 at 5.00 p.m. Kenyan time, by emailing the application to psccommissioner2026@parliament.go.ke, using the prescribed Form.
Following receipt of the applications, the Parliamentary Service Commission is required to consider the applications, shortlist, interview and recommend to the National Assembly and the Senate, the name of the suitable candidate for appointment in accordance with the Standing Orders of the respective Houses.
The Clerk of the Senate/Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission, hereby notifies the public of all the persons who applied for the position and those who were shortlisted for the position of female non-MP Commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission under Article 127(2)(d) of the Constitution, including the date and time of interviews for the shortlisted candidates as listed hereunder:
