BUNGE LA TAIFA KUTUMIA KISWAHILI KATIKA MIJADALA BUNGENI
Matumizi ya lugha ya Kiswahili katika Bunge la Taifa la Kenya imekuwa safari ya mwendo wa kobe.
Mara ya kwanza kwa Bunge hili kukumbatia matumizi ya Kiswahili ilikuwa mnamo mwaka wa 1974. Hii ni baada ya Rais wa kwanza wa Jamhuri ya Kenya Hayati Mzee Jomo Kenyatta kutangaza kuwa Kiswahili iwe mojawapo ya lugha za kutumiwa kuendesha mijadala Bungeni. Alitoa amri hiyo baada ya Kiswahili kupandishwa hadhi na kuwa lugha ya Taifa nchini Kenya, kulingana na chapisho la Lyndon Harries.
